About Mat Master

Jim Butz, President
On June 9, 2011, at the Clean Show in Las Vegas, Jim Butz walked into the Mat Master trade show booth. Before he left, he purchased the Mat Master mat roller off the showroom floor.
Why? He loved the simplicity, the physical strength, and the durability the Mat Master roller displayed on the showroom floor.
"It was the first mat roller I saw that convinced me; I could make money in the mat business. It fed the mats easily and they rolled out the back for convenient storage. Its solid belt made it safe to use. This Mat Master mat roller delivers tightly rolled ease to handle mats every day to this day in my West Bend, Wisconsin laundry." Said Jim.
In 2017 Jim Butz bought Mat Master Mat Rolling Company. Jim renamed the company Mat Master Technology, LLC. At this year's Clean Show in New Orleans, he will show the latest Mat Master 2019 System along with its new RFID Process Technology at his Mat Master booth 4900.
Since his purchase of Mat Master, Jim spent two years building a team of engineers to design the next generation of Mat Rollers. Jim also created a service team to repair, service, and rebuild Mat Master Matt Rollers in laundries throughout North America.
While the original Mat Master machines worked without fail day in day out for the first 1-2 years, an engineering oversight placed undue stress on the 6-foot model shaft, causing it to break.
Jim hired another engineering team to find and solve the shaft weakness issue. After months of testing option after option, his team discovered the cause and fixed the mechanical design issue that caused the failure. If you own one of these machines and set it aside, but want to fix and use it again--call Mat Master Technology, LLC at 573-723-4305.
When Jim Butz heard the Mat Master Company was for sale two years ago, he purchased it. He renamed the company Mat Master Technology, LLC. While building this new mat technology company, Jim contacted laundry owners who owned Mat Master machines. He replaced two laundry owners $2000 shafts for free when they purchased a $1300 belt.
He asked them what they wanted from the new company.
They told him to, "Build long lasting, high efficacy Mat Rollers. Offer fast, reliable service at a fair price. Build them in America with the highest quality materials. Make them tough as a battleship."
"Done." He said.
